Alice

Manager, Connected Community, City of Toronto

Alice Xu is the Manager of the Connected Community/Smart City program at the City of Toronto's Technology Services Division. The Connected Community team is committed to delivering broader quality of life value as a City through the use of data, technology and processes. Prior to joining the Connected Community/Smart City team in 2019, Alice spent over 10 years cutting her teeth in the vehicle and business licensing and regulatory world in Municipal Licensing and Standards, where she navigated regulatory challenges like ride-sharing and rooming houses.  Alice studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto. Upon finding her passion in public service, she completed post graduate studies in Public Administration and Governance at Ryerson University.
