NICHOLAS THOMPSON

Nicholas is CEO of The Atlantic and former editor-in-chief of WIRED. His bold, brilliant take on the complex relationship between ethics, technology, business, politics, and society continues to shape the nation’s understanding of the world at large. At WIRED, Nicholas championed the ways in which technology can enhance our lives and now at The Atlantic, he continues to challenge assumptions and pursue the truth. In new talks, he blueprints what life will look like after COVID-19 - how privacy, labor, business, and human connection will be irrevocably altered, and how individuals and organizations can poise themselves to thrive.

JANELLE LAPOINTE

Janelle is an Afro-Indigenous climate justice and Indigenous rights organizer from Stellat’en First Nation, currently working as communications and engagement coordinator at the David Suzuki Foundation as a guest on Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) territory. Growing up on a her small reserve, along the Highway of Tears, she witnessed firsthand how extractive industry practices not only degrade our natural environment, but are deeply connected to cultural genocide and the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. She now advocates for a healthy environment for future generations, ensuring anti-racism and intersectionality is at the forefront of climate conversations.

Chan School of Public Health’s Center for Health and the Global Environment, among others.
