Joy

Principal Planner (Acting), Policy Development, Region of Peel, Public Works, Regional Planning and Growth Management Division

Joy Simms is an urban planner with the Region of Peel, who's ultimate objective in the policy planning team is to create the framework for a healthy, complete, and connected community. In conducting the Peel 2041+ Official Plan Review, Joy's work is in the land use planning and built environment areas of growth management and employment planning, major transit station areas, and age-friendly planning. Using mapping tools, data analysis, and collaborative long-range planning practices, she explores the links between these and other planning challenges of the day to propose policy and implementation which will ensure Peel achieves its vision to be a "Community for Life."
