Lauren

EDCO Past President and author of Resiliency Legacy Piece for EDCO regarding COVID19 Projects

Lauren is an Executive Vice-President with more than 25 years of experience working with clients in public and private sector across Canada. She has undertaken a wide variety of assignments that illustrate the linkages between long-range planning, effective economic development and placemaking.
Lauren began her professional career as a professional planner but as her work and interests increasingly moved away from traditional urban planning and into the economic development field, Lauren helped launch MDB Insight as a vehicle for delivering high-value consulting assistance to communities and organizations wrestling with their shifting roles in a global economy and challenges and opportunities this can create.
Lauren has facilitated the creation of a wide range of economic development initiatives that include corporate strategic plans, economic development strategies, downtown revitalization, community improvement plans and cultural master plans for a wide range of communities and regions across the country. In completing this work consideration has be given to a wide range of economic opportunities – small business support, target sector development, suitability of employment land, workforce development and immigration, organizational capacity and the impact of the broader structural shifts on the Ontario and Canadian economy.
She is a Past-President of the Economic Developers Council of Ontario, a member of the Economic Developers Association of Canada and a former member of the Toronto Board of Trade’s Economic Development Committee.
