September 21 and 22
2 days, 2 disciplines, 2 ways to participate – defining our professional roles and uniting to build more equitable, accessible and inspired communities.
#2GETHER2022
Technology holds great promise in transforming how we plan and engage in our communities. However, technology is only as effective as how you use it. It can enhance public engagement with residents on a variety of planning issues, but there is an “art” to using it effectively. People need to see the results of their engagement, both during and at the end of the process, to build trust. This session will explore the use of online tools to enhance community engagement in a variety of planning contexts through case studies. Participants will also hear about key lessons learned, including how using technology to ask different questions can be the basis for more effective neighbourhood planning moving forward.
