#2GETHER2022
Building on the session at OPPI’s 2018 Symposium, this session will continue to showcase leadership on climate change impacts and adaptation from First Nations in Ontario. This session will demonstrate stories of relationship building and partnerships and how they contribute to climate resilience in First Nations as they are the keepers of much knowledge for their lands, and working with them result in better understanding of impacts (often beyond those that may be expereinced by a municipality) and grass routes approaches to adaptation. Participants will learn how these partnerships were formed and how the adaptation planning was conducted and learn of examples of how tacking environmental or planning issues in partnership with First Nations can contribute to relationship building.
