Through this work she has worked with Indigenous communities in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Throughout this work, she worked closely with the Indigenous Community staff, community members and elected officials. She has designed consultation/engagement programs for many projects and played a role in engaging community Elders, youth, consultation coordinators and other community knowledge holders for projects including Land Use Plans, Infrastructure reviews, Climate Change, and various Environmental Assessments. Heather has also attended various courses related to Aboriginal Law and Rights, and delivered many presentations that highlight projects which included First Nations engagement and how that positively influenced the project outcomes, as well as focusing on building relationships and capacity. She has thoroughly enjoyed her past experience working with and for Indigenous communities and strives to continue this work.
