#2GETHER2022
How can we ensure Toronto’s growth is climate resilient? What does it mean to be more resilient in terms of land use planning? These were the questions and challenges put forward by Toronto’s Chief Resilience Officer to the City of Toronto’s City Planning Division. This session will provide an overview of Toronto's new Resilience Strategy; engage with the audience in responding to how they view resilience in terms of land use planning; review the responses of Toronto's land use planners to this question and the resulting recommendations that were incorporated into Toronto's Resilience Strategy. Participants will also gain better understanding of what land use policies and implementation tools can best address climate resiliency, gain knowledge of what could apply to other municipalities through understanding Toronto’s process of review and understand how good climate change policies can align with other policies and improve quality of life.
