The session will explore the changing culture of parks in the context of Toronto’s growing population and the challenges in managing competing open space needs for an increasingly diverse population. Specifically, the session will revolve around the following questions: How has the way that urban parks are used changed? What are we doing to address the need to provide more with less? Should we be rethinking our definition of a traditional park and what that space might look like? What role do other private/semi-private spaces and streets play in the greater open space system?
