The session will explore the importance of a people-first, human-scale approach to the design of public spaces, using the Dundas Place Flexible Street Class Environmental Assessment Study in London, Ontario as a case study. Participants will learn about the principles of a Gehl’s signature Public Space Public Life survey and how the results were reflected in the design for Dundas Place. The study also involved extensive public outreach, which will be highlighted during the session.
