Manager, Urban Design and GIS Planning Services, City of London

Sean Galloway is the Manager of Urban Design and Geographic Information Systems for the City of London. He has worked in various capacities for municipalities in Australia and Canada over the past 15 years.  He was the lead municipal urban designer on one of the largest greenfield development areas in North America and assisted municipalities with implementing the State Government of Victoria’s Melbourne 2030 Planning Strategy. Sean co-led the ReThink London Engagement process, the preparation and adoption of The London Plan (City of London’s new Official Plan) and is currently leading the municipalities’ Smart Cities Strategy. Sean has also undertaken public engagement work and prepared downtown and city plans for San Iganacio/Santa Elena and Belize City in Belize. 
 
Sean holds a Bachelor’s of Environmental Studies in Planning from the University of Waterloo and Master’s Degree in Urban Development and Design from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He is a member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute/Canadian Institute of Planners, past Chair and Board Member of the London Regional Children’s Museum (Canada’s first Children’s Museum) and past Board Member of Emerging Leaders London. Sean is a regular guest lecturer at Western University, McMaster University and teaches at Fanshawe College covering diverse topics as the public realm, city design and the integration of transportation and land use.
