MW3: Evolution of Hamilton's Waterfront - From Landfill to Parkland to Waterfront

Join us for a walking tour of Hamilton's waterfront to experience its evolution over the past 50 years. This 5-km walk will provide examples of past, present and future community design and environmental planning challenges and successes.
The tour will include Barton-Tiffany—a former industrial area that is to be transformed into a new neighbourhood—Bayfront Park—a former landfill site which today is topped with park—and Pier 4—where residents, NIMBYs and YESBYs alike, are actively involved in the city’s plans for Harbour West. The tour will end with a ride on Hamilton's unique waterfront shuttle bus along Hamilton's culturally famous James Street North.
