Tourism is a significant contributor to the economic health of communities in Ontario. In 2015, tourism supported 389,000 jobs and generated over $32.5-billion in economic activity in Ontario. This session will demonstrate where policies and programs can support tourism. It will highlight some of the available tools to help planners and others assess the economic health of their tourism sector and show how one city has used these tools to strengthen the tourism sector for its stakeholders.
