Keynote Panel: Sudbury’s Community Readiness in Focus

October 11, 2018

9:30am - 10:30am

The City of Greater Sudbury, Ontario’s seventh largest municipality by area, is familiar with uncertainty, economic opportunity and the need to reinvent itself. What was once a major mining and timber town has now expanded its resource-based economy and focus into key areas such as health, retail, education and arts and culture. Throughout its history, Sudbury has proven itself to be a resilient city able to do what is needed to ensure its community stays ready for any challenges and opportunities that come its way. But what does community readiness look like in Sudbury today?

Our expert panelists will join OPPI President, Jason Ferrigan, RPP in a panel discussion exploring the topic of community readiness in contemporary Sudbury through the context of the broader topics discussed at OPPI18 – community and infrastructure resilience, economics and culture and diversity. Please join us for this conversation to get a better sense of what this northern Ontario community is doing to stay ready and how their success can apply to your role and your local community.
