As planners we want to ensure that we provide meaningful opportunities for community input and engagment. As a result of the process of reconciliation, and a series of legal decisions, planners now have the opportunity to learn about and experience an entirely new and informative process of engagement with First Nation communities. This includes broadening our engagement skills, improving our understanding of Indigenous community persepectives and values, and learning about and understanding cultural values and experiences that can better inform our work.
