Michael has over 30 years of practical experience as a land use and environmental planner in the public and private sector.
 
As a Partner with Skelton Brumwell, Michael helped expand their reputation as trusted experts in both Provincial and Municipal planning. Part of SBA’s recent growth and continued success can be attributed to Michael’s multi-disciplinary approach to projects and his commitment to providing the highest level of innovation.
As a consultant, he has carried out a wide range of planning and ecological studies throughout Ontario. Michael has led policy development and research projects for the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario, First Nations communities, numerous municipal government clients as well as NGOs.  He has also assisted a wide variety of private sector clients with a range of development applications including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and recreational sector projects.
 
Michael is a Program Coordinator and instructor for the new Applied Environmental Planning Graduate Certificate Program at the Sir Sanford Fleming School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences.
Michael presents and writes about planning, ecology and conservation matters on a regular basis. He is a qualified expert in land-use planning and ecological matters with extensive experience before the Ontario Municipal Board and other tribunals and proceedings. Michael also has experience in the effective utilization of social media in developing meaningful community engagement in planning matters.
