OPPI HAS A NEW DATABASE
Updated: November 3, 2022
As part of our commitment to enhance your OPPI member services, we have been working with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) to transition from our old database to a new, shared database.
Our new database will provide OPPI members with a much-improved and refined user experience through a simplified, one-stop service for login, invoicing, renewals, and more! Members may now, optionally, renew their CIP membership directly through OPPI in a single payment.
As a result, a number of member services will be temporarily unavailable.

IMPORTANT DATES
OPPI wants to ensure the smooth transition of your member data from our old database to our new one. That’s why this project is being rolled out in a few phases.
Phase 1
Member self-serve and other
database features are paused.
August 26, 2022
COMPLETE
Phase 2
Member self-serve and other
database features are restored.
November 3, 2022
COMPLETE
Phase 1:
The biggest change is that self-serve access to your Member Profile will be temporarily unavailable, but access to some OPPI services linked to the database
will
be available, including: submitting events to the OPPI Events Calendar, adding new job postings, and submitting new membership applications.
Phase 2:
All access to the database and its features will be restored. Now that our new database is fully up and running, access to OPPI services linked to the database will return to normal – except it will be so much better!
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
Now that our new database is up and running, be sure to check our your new

Y MAGAZINE FAQs
Why don't have I have to log in to read Y Magazine like I did before?
The decision to make Y Magazine as accessible as possible was made with our members in mind, to increase the value of your OPPI membership. Not only is it easier to read current and past issues online, it also allows for greater promotion of the OPPI brand and RPP designation to a broader audience.
How can I read Y Magazine issues online?
It's easy to
read current and past issues of Y Magazine
online! You can choose to read the flipbook version of the magazine, where you can digitally turn the pages, navigate to articles, and zoom in and out. Or, you can download the PDF version of the magazine to read it or share it with friends and colleagues.
PLANNERS CONNECT FAQS
Why do I have to create a new password to log onto Planners Connect?
Certain member services, like Planners Connect, are connected to our database. As we transition member data from our old database to our new one, some member services will be temporarily unavailable. In the case of Planners Connect, that means that you won't be able to use your regular OPPI login credentials to access the site. So, we've come up with a new way to log into the platform so you can continue to use Planners Connect without too much interruption.
To log into Planners Connect
, simply use the same email address that you used before, and then create a new password.
Will resetting my password mean that I lose my posts and past contributions on Planners Connect?
Don't worry, by resetting your password, you are simply creating unique login credentials. All your posts and contributions will remain on Planners Connect.
Will Planners Connect ever be reconnected to the database?
Yes! Once all database access is restored in Phase 2, Planners Connect will be reconnected with the database and you will be able to use one set of OPPI login credentials to access the platform - that's what we call "single sign-on." Stay tuned for more information on when this will happen, but for now, be sure to remember your new Planners Connect password so you can log in easily during this transition period.
What if I don’t remember my Planners Connect email and/or new password?
If you have any trouble logging into Planners Connect during this transition period, contact
communications@ontarioplanners.ca
