This mobile workshop will focus on new private sector commercial and neighbourhood developments and how public art has impacted those sites. Participants will see prominent art installations by local, national and internationally recognized artists.
 
The City of Toronto official plan includes several public art policies for private development and publicly owned lands. Implemented through the city’s urban design team, the Percent for Public Art Program identifies public art opportunities in precinct and secondary plans, and in urban design guidelines. Public Art is secured through the development review process and in conjunction with prominent public capital initiatives. Since the program began City Planning has secured millions of dollars in community benefits under the public art program.
