This mobile workshop will take participants to Regent Park, a social housing community in downtown Toronto that is one of six communities currently being revitalized by Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCH). The project, which involves demolishing all existing buildings and replacing with new rental buildings, market buildings, parks, commercial spaces and community facilities, is being undertaken in partnership with the Daniels Corporation, a private sector developer. Join the TCH development team along with representatives from Daniels to discuss what makes revitalization viable and how consultation has shaped both the revitalization and community design. The discussion will be followed by a walking tour of Regent Park, a community mid-way through a 15-20 year revitalization process.
