A combination presentation session and onsite visit to the Cnaray District/Pan Parapan Am Athletes' Village in the West Don Lands Waterfront Precinct. Historical review and lessons learned review of the involvement of three orders of government, the area community, Waterfront Toronto, Toronto Region Conservation Authority, Toronto Transit Commission, the Affordable Housing Office, George Brown College and the YMCA, Infrastructure Ontario and the private sector. Costruction of the Village a prime example of the development of City and provincial expertise in working together to succeed with an alternative financing delivery model. Additional focus on the Precinct Planning and Urban Design imperatives, including compact urban form, expanded high quality public realm, spectacular new park built on top of a flood protection land form, innovations such as soil cells to ensure a healthy tree canopy, and access to transit within a 5 minute walk.
