This presentation provides a greater understanding of the effects that Farmers’ Markets have on public space and surrounding communities. The study is based on the Leslieville Farmers’ Market, a weekly outdoor non-profit Market in Toronto’s East end that attracts approx. 2000 people per day. The market occupies a small public park and has developed over time to host 35-40 vendors. This presentation will show the baseline data from the first phase of the study to illustrate the demography of the community that attends the Market and presenting the future phases of this study.
