Additional Fee: $30.00 **Workshop is currently sold out**
This mobile workshop will showcase the Toronto Port Lands, highlighting the substantial benefits of integrating land use and environmental planning. Onboard the tour boat presenters will describe flood protection initiatives (including the relocation of the mouth of the Don River), the role and future of the Ship Channel, the planning framework, the continuation of commercial, film industry and other Port industrial activities, and the introduction of residential development. Premised on two differing legislative frameworks, land use planning and environmental assessments have not always been undertaken in an integrative manner. Participants will learn how, in the case of the Port Lands revitalization, infrastructure is being designed with the over-riding goal of supporting the planning vision/objectives for community character, quality and resiliency. **Workshop is currently sold out**
