Devin Causley is an accredited professional planner by trade having been a member of CIP for over ten years. He has an undergraduate degree in urban planning and a master’s degree in local economic development, both from the University of Waterloo. For the last ten years Devin has worked for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities helping communities to understand issues related to climate change, energy management and sustainable development. When not working he enjoys traveling and takes the opportunity to experience the many examples of planning that the world's cities have to offer. He also happens to be legally blind. This has developed a lifelong awareness to the challenges that contemporary urban design and planning can pose to someone with low vision. Most recently Devin published an article on visual accessibility in the summer 2014 edition of Plan Canada titled Start with People: Designing Visually Accessible Cities and Communities.
