Joe D’Abramo has practiced as a city planner in Ontario for over 35 years, most of this time with the City of Toronto, working in the fields of development approval, policy formulation and supporting regulations. As Director of Zoning and Environmental Planning, he was responsible for preparing the City’s new city wide Zoning By-law (2013), which replaced the 43 comprehensive zoning bylaws established prior to amalgamation. Joe also developed the City of Toronto's city wide Site Plan Control By-law (2012). His environmental planning work includes preparation of the City of Toronto's Green Roof By-law (2009) and the Toronto Green Standard (2006), a set of environmental performance requirements for new development in the City. Most recently, Joe was responsible for the preparation of the Official Plan policies that allow for the implementation of the Development Permit System (2014) in the City of Toronto. Joe is a graduate of Ryerson University.
