Justine Giancola

Justine is an associate, project manager with experience in municipal planning approvals, land use policy and environmental planning, and includes corporate environmental management for an international financial company.

 

Her previous work in land development, having worked for Giffels Design Build, has been complemented by the range of policy planning, municipal approvals and environmental approval projects  with Dillon. Justine has assisted municipal and private sector clients with their development approvals and due diligence processes.

 

She was the pro-forma specialist for the City of Hamilton West Harbour Waterfront development feasibility assignment, to test the financial feasibility of the land use framework for Hamilton's strategic waterfront properties. In partnership with the City and the Waterfront Trust, she developed a variety of built-out scenarios within and outside of the existing planning framework and testing each one through a pro-forma process to guide the next steps for the City's waterfront. 

 

She has taken various courses on pro-formas, but has found that they have been focused on academic practice, instead of those applications relevant to practitioners. 

 

Justine is very active in the profession and is currently the Toronto District Chair for OPPI and on the Planning Knowledge Exchange.
