Walkability Audit with Dan Burden

October 06, 2015

3:15pm - 5:45pm

Pre-registration Required **Workshop is currently sold out**

Join Dan Burden the "Johnny Appleseed" of walkability as he teaches the tools of transforming streets into places for people. He will lead a walking audit--or mobile walkshop--through the streets of Toronto.  A walking audit is a powerful educational tool that lets participants see, feel and hear the treatments and principles of walkability in action on the street, taking the lessons learned back to their own community.

Learning Outcomes

  • Know the key elements of a complete street, healthy built environment, and know how to apply the principles and practices of complete streets to corridors, regions and towns.
  • Know how to organize, facilitate, and lead a walking audit in your own community.
  • Be able to look at a range of simple to complex built environments and be able to express what is possible to build, transform and incentivize for a healthy, successful walkable area.
