Kiran is a Senior Urban Designer and fully registered Planner with a diverse range of experiences in both the public and private sector. Through investigations of varying scales and contexts, Kiran’s research interests have focused on open space in the city and the qualitative significance they present to the larger urban sphere.  These interests have also investigated the symbolic relation between human civil unrest and physical form of the city. Throughout his career, Kiran has focused on the progressive change in physical planning and design on a variety of scales. Kiran has also engaged in robust civic engagement through many of these projects. He has worked on a variety of projects which include planning and design work in master planning for the University of Chicago, the New York Botanical Gardens, Vores By Carlsberg Site Competition (Copenhagen, Denmark), Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway (Windsor, Ontario), winners of the Downtown Pratt Street Design Competition (Baltimore, Maryland) and recent winners of the Urban Land Institute Ideas Competition for the Central Toronto Waterfront. In addition to professional experience, Kiran has also been invited to sessional positions at the University of Toronto, while continuing to focus on his research interests.
