Kyle Knoeck has been with the City of Toronto Planning division for fifteen years in Community Planning. During this time Kyle has worked on two major social housing revitalization initiatives. Regent Park was the City’s first major revitalization project. Kyle took the lead role in preparing the planning framework that would guide one of the most transformative changes to the City’s east downtown community. Kyle then went onto to work on the Lawrence Heights revitalization project. This posed a new set of challenges given its suburban location and the sheer size of the area. Kyle worked closely with a team of division staff to bring forward a Secondary Plan as well as numerous infrastructure plans that are currently being used to guide the revitalization of this community. Kyle currently manages the East Section of the Toronto and East York Community Planning district in the City of Toronto and is responsible for a wide range of projects including development applications, area studies and a number of major projects. Current major projects in this area include: the Port Lands, South of Eastern Strategic Direction and Lower Yonge. Kyle is a Registered Professional Planner and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
