Maria started her own planning and land development consulting firm in 2007. With clients across all of the land use sectors, Maria is involved in a wide variety of work from large landowner groups to mixed-use infill and redevelopment and also large-scale commercial and industrial developments. With a focus on the GTA and York Region in particular, Maria is typically not only the land use planner on a file, but also takes the consultant team lead to coordinate and project manage the planning approvals process for her clients. Many years of hands-on work with planning departments, various consultants and solicitors, municipal councils and also the Ontario Municipal Board has given Maria the experience to confidently offer advice and planning services which result in realistic, achievable and marketable developments. Maria has a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Economic Geography from the University of Toronto; is a member of MCIP and RPP; a member of Lambda Alpha International; and a member of the Building Industry and Land Development Association. Before starting her own firm, Maria spent several years at Bousfields as an Associate and as a Partner, and before that was with Monarch Corporation for many years where she was Vice President of Land Development for Monarch’s southern Ontario developments.
