Matt began his career at British firm Space Syntax in 2004. There, he was responsible for projects such as the EU-funded ‘Safe and Easy Movement in Stockwell’ and the development of a tourism and wayfinding strategy for the city of London, England. After returning to Canada and working in the Downtown Renewal section of the City of Hamilton, Matt briefly worked as an independent consultant, including on the redesign of the Central Branch of the Hamilton Public Library.

More recently, Matt participated in the City of Toronto’s Urban Fellows program, first working in Tower Renewal and then on the Official Plan Review. He briefly left the City to join Urban Strategies as a Planner and Project Manager for the Region of Waterloo’s Central Transit Corridor Community Building Strategy. For the last 2 plus years, Matt has worked
on the Eglinton Connects Planning Study, where he was responsible for research, graphics, and public consultation and outreach. Matt is currently working in the newly formed Strategic Initiatives Unit in City Planning at the City of Toronto
