Principal, Quadrangle Architects Limited

Richard has built an international career promoting the development of cities through urban intensification, master planning, sustainable design and adaptive reuse. Bringing his wide-ranging experience to Quadrangle, he leads a wide array of urban projects such as the mixed-use Enigma on the Park, the historic reinvention of 60 Atlantic and high density mixed use work across the GTA. His other major projects include the Fengxian mixed-use masterplan in Shanghai and several residential and mixed use projects in Dubai. . 
 
After earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Waterloo, he worked for Aukett Ltd. in Prague, Geneva and London, and for Foster + Partners in London. He joined Quadrangle in 2003, left in 2007 to co-found RAW Design (winner of an OAA Best Emerging Practice Award) and in 2012 returned as a principal. He is active in the development community, currently on the advisory board for Urban Land Institute Toronto, the chairman of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat Canada, and is a member of several design review panels around the Greater Toronto Area. He is also a past chair of the Toronto Society of Architects.
