September 21 and 22
2 days, 2 disciplines, 2 ways to participate – defining our professional roles and uniting to build more equitable, accessible and inspired communities.
Cassandra is TVDSB alumna and is currently completing her second co-op term with Thames Valley. She is a Planning undergrad at the University of Waterloo and has found many new interests within the realm of school board planning. She previously worked in public transportation but was itching to find a field that would expand her skillset and challenge what she believes is rational. Like many planning students and professionals, she had no idea that school board planning existed before having the opportunity to work at TVDSB. Cassandra is extremely curious about what motivates people to think and act the way they do, making the experience of working for a public body all the more interesting. She is very excited to have an outlet to combine communication, social analysis, and artistic skills where they can be used to promote community building. The most important lesson she has learned so far is that it is impossible to survive in this industry without thick skin and a sharp sense of humour.
