#2GETHER2022
Emma Nelson (they/them) is in the final stages of completing their Master of Environmental Studies at York University and diplomas in Community Planning and Environmental Education. Their current projects include mapping the land recorded in the Indian Treaties and Surrenders 1680-1903 documents to animate land theft since 1690 and analyzing public engagement for new shelters in a SSHRC-funded partnership with Toronto’s Shelter, Support and Housing Administration. They are a coordinating member of the Movement Defence Committee, a grassroots organization that provides pro bono legal support to progressive activists. An avid gardener, reader, and researcher, Emma mostly spends their time dreaming of moving to Nova Scotia/Mi’kmaq territory, becoming a sheep farmer, and getting a dog (to be named Samwise).
