Associate Professor, Department of Geography and Planning, Queen's University

Dr. Patricia Collins is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Planning at Queen’s University. Her research is broadly situated within the domain of healthy community planning, where she examines the determinants of, inequities in, and threats to the liveability of neighbourhoods and cities. She has engaged in a diverse range of projects that address various domains of community liveability, including food insecurity, travel behaviours, and playscapes. Patricia is currently leading a SSHRC-funded research study that is investigating the community-level consequences of the permanent closures of public schools in Ontario, with a focus on two school board districts using a comparative case study design.
