Candidate

OPPI welcomes you as a Candidate member and congratulates you on taking this important step towards Full membership.

Candidate membership entitles you to:
There are a number of steps you need to complete before you may use the title “Registered Professional Planner” or the letters “RPP” after your name. This designation is reserved for Full and Retired Members only. The Professional Standards Board (PSB) is your first point of contact if you have any questions about the RPP certification process.

More information on OPPI membership can be found here. To access your Member Profile, go to the top right corner of the home page. You log in using the email address on file with OPPI, and your password.

Please note:  beginning with your first full year of Candidate Membership with OPPI, you will be required to record and complete Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) activities. CPL demonstrates a commitment from our members to maintain competency on a continual basis, as well as, remaining current with contemporary theories, methods and practice within the profession. For more information on CPL, please see the CPL Program Guide.

As a member of OPPI, we also encourage you to become a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), Canada’s national planning organization. The national organization CIP and the 7 Provincial and Territorial Institutes and Associations (PTIAs) work to support and promote professional planning and planners throughout Canada and internationally.
