  • Use of the RPP seal
  • Preferred rates on admission to OPPI events and professional development courses
  • Subscriptions to OPPI's publication, Y Magazine
  • Access to insurance packages available to members
  • Networking opportunities with planners throughout Ontario

Once you have been a Full Member for three years, you may be asked to mentor or sponsor a Candidate Member by signing his or her work logs, thereby verifying that the experience described constitutes acceptable relevant planning experience. Further information can be found through the Professional Standards Board (PSB).

As a Full Member of the Institute, you will be required to record and complete Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) activities. CPL demonstrates a commitment from our members to maintain a competency on a continual basis, as well as remaining current with contemporary theories, methods and practice within the profession. For more information, please see the CPL Program Guide.

More information on OPPI membership can be found online.  To access your Member Profile, go to the top right corner of the home page. You log in using the email address on file with OPPI, and your password.

As a member of OPPI, we also encourage you to become a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), Canada’s national planning organization. The national organization CIP and the 7 Provincial and Territorial Institutes and Associations (PTIAs) work to support and promote professional planning and planners throughout Canada and internationally.
