This session will use case studies of a variety of large-scale, impactful projects to start a discussion of the significant challenges involved in coordinating such projects among levels of government and the staff groups within each. Projects will include the Gardiner Expressway East and Lakeshore Blvd Environmental Assessment, the Toronto Island Airport Tunnel, and/or the Toronto Portlands Transportation and Servicing Master Plan. Participants will have the opportunity to role play as a way of understanding the competing interests involved and the compromises that must sometimes be made to achieve a viable solution.
