Acting Project Manager, Zoning Bylaw, City of Toronto

Alan Theobald is a 35-year veteran of the planning profession.  After being seconded in 2002 along with other community planners to work on the harmonization of all the comprehensive zoning bylaws of the former municipalities comprising the amalgamated City of Toronto, he became an Acting Project Manager in 2007, with responsibility for all residential, open space, utility and transportation zones in what became Bylaw 569-2013.

Alan has a wide range of experience at the municipal level, including the rural Town of Caledon and the mid-sized City of Saint John, New Brunswick.  Among big cities, he joined North York in 1987, which of course merged in with the rest of Toronto in 1998.  His professional planning education includes a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo (1978) and Master of Science from the University of Toronto (1986).
