Eldon Theodore, a Partner with MHBC, specializes in urban design and sustainability.  Eldon holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo and a Masters Degree in Urban Design Studies from the University of Toronto. Eldon’s experience includes a broad range of projects related to urban design, intensification, master planning, design control guidelines, design policy planning, design concepts, visioning exercises, community engagement and capacity building. Eldon is also trained under the National Charrette Institute System for facilitating Charrettes.  By applying principles of good design and adapting them to emphasize local histories and context, Eldon has helped dozens of communities across Canada achieve high quality built form.  Eldon also led the MHBC design team in the design competition submission for the centenary of the City of Canberra, Australia which the firm was a finalist, and co-led a visioning Charrette that established the vision and mission statement for CNU Ontario.  Eldon has made a number of presentations on urban issues including his most recent engagement at the CityAge conference in Waterloo on the topic of Future Proofing the Innovation City.  Eldon is the Chair of OPPI’s Community Design Working Group and the Treasurer of CNU Ontario.
