Head of Urban Design, Sorensen Gravely Lowes Planning Associates Inc.
Ute is an Urban Designer and Architect with more than 15 years of experience. Ute is a member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.
As an urban designer, Ute approaches her work with the understanding that design can be a vehicle for creating healthy places and communities being aware of the complexities of urban spaces and the potential of infrastructure to transform the vitality of a place. Integral to all her management and design work is her commitment to the integration of social, economic, and environmental sustainable practices from the early stages of the process.
Ute’s design experience in Canada, the Unites States, Russia and China include site, master and community planning developments ranging in size from 10 to 8,000 acres, from custom homes to community master plans working for private and public clients.
Ute gained a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City and an Urban and Regional Planning Masters degree from Queens University.
