Taking Your CIP to the Next Level

This session will provide expert guidance on how to prepare and implement a successful Community Improvement Plan (CIP) that meets the key planning and economic development goals of your municipality. Topics will include types of CIPs, key steps to preparing a CIP, expected return on investment from incentive programs, key public realm improvements, marketing of CIP programs, and examples of innovate and successful CIP programs and emerging trends. The session will conclude with a summary of lessons learned and explore the role of the planner in the future of CIPs.
