City of Toronto Neighborhood Design - Lawrence Heights

The session will present the Lawrence Heights Revitalization Plan – a plan to redevelop, revitalize and intensify a nearly 200 acre, 1,208-unit, inner-suburban, public housing neighbourhood in Toronto. Presenters will offer the perspectives of the City Planning Division, the Toronto Community Housing Corporation and a resident-leader from the Lawrence Heights community. Each lens will reveal key considerations of context, strategies and opportunities to enable public housing redevelopment in challenging social, political and financial environments. The session will emphasize how to align municipal planning policies, mandates of public housing providers, and the aspirations of local communities.
